Song for a Sun, 2017

Performance installation, Dienstgebäude Zurich
2 mirrors, disco ball, sunlight
Activated for 6 minutes each day

Two mirrors direct a ray of sunlight from the front room of the exhibition space to the darker space in the back.

At fife o‘clock, the light is reflected in such a way, that it hits the side of a turning disco ball.

At first, a few light spots are scattered into to the space. With the movement of the sunlight, the ball is increasingly lit and after three minutes, the space is entirely filled with light spots. Subsequently, the sunlight moves on until darkness takes over again. The happening reminds of the phenomena of a solar eclipse and lasts six minutes.
